Not much New Year’s cheer from this Fresh & Easy Pinot Noir. Though the name is utterly uninspired, the pedigree is good, with grapes from Sonoma’s solid 2006 vintage. And while there are some hallmark New World Pinot Noir notes – particularly cherry and strawberry fruit, black tea, and a gamey earthiness – overall the wine is rather thin and lean.
I would stick with Fresh & Easy’s Oregon offering, the Primarius Pinot Noir, or, if you’re willing to go up another price point, go with La Crema’s very nice 2007 Sonoma Coast bottling.

i've had all the red wines that Fresh and Easy has to offer, and this one is easily the best. i think it's crazy that it got such a bad review.
