A Sauvignon Blanc is not the most obvious mid-winter choice, even here in the ever-delightfully warm southwest, but I'd been meaning to try this Marlborough offering for some time. Turns out it is the definition - one of the many, true - of a refreshing white, with bracing grapefruit astringency backed by some pineapple sweetness.
It lacks the finesse of, say, a typical Kim Crawford Sauv Blanc, but it is easily in his ballpark. Nice for the price, too.
